My sister and I are thinking of taking a horseride. What do you see on a 1 hour ride comparing with the 2 hour ride. We arrive at 3.30 pm in Custer. Is there a ride later in the afternoon?

Agree with the suggestion of a two-hour ride if you are able. Very peaceful and beautiful.
I tried to call they must not be open until May. If I am close to the weight limit what will they do? I would like the 2 hour ride for I and my husband. I'm 225 lbs, but I fluctuate to 235 lbs at times, generally I lose some weight during summer time. Will they make me step on a scale and prove it? Thanks in advance!! I don't want to get embarrassed or upset on vacation if they should pull out a scale and say, oops you are 234 lbs - you can't come riding!!!

I am in a similar boat as you, can I ask how your ride was? We are going in a few weeks. I’m also worried about getting on/off with a bad knee.
I can not find any information about various rides that you have, will be there next summer For Sturgis and would like to go out for more than 2 hours and at that time should we make reservations?

Rinydaywoman13, we would always recommend advance reservations, but that is certainly personal preference. We moved to online bookings this spring. My answer cannot include a direct link, but you can find it from our Custer State Park Resort website. :) Over Sturgis, our stables are still open and are generally less busy! We absolutely encourage you to explore booking opportunities with us during that time. Thank you!
