Burns Township is a civil township of Shiawassee County in the U.S. state of Michigan. As of the 2020 census, the township population was 3,280. Whitmore Knaggs established a trading post here in 1820 to exchange goods for furs with the local Ojibwe. The township was organized in 1835.
