Beautiful white sand beach to enjoy the ocean. To the north, rocks, which allow for some beautiful views, rock climbing, and tidepools. To the south, the Carmel River empties into the Pacific Ocean…Full review by Jaskel08

Several ways to get to Carmel River beach.... from the Carmel side... its just a walk in the sand, no stairs. From Carmel Meadows side... there is a dirt path that walks to the beach...or further South, near the Wedding Rock are some steep steps. We usually walk South..and follow the meandering path that ends at the beach and avoid the steps. If you are fit enough for a beach walk, you can do it. We lived in Carmel most of our lives and it's a very nice quiet beach. If you want more people and dogs... go to the beach at the bottom of Ocean ave.
Q:
Are the beaches wheelchair accessible
A:
Not really. You can see the beach from a wheelchair but there is not really a way to go to the sand in one.
Q:
Where are dog friendly places to eat that have entertainment?
A:
Try Dametra Cafe. We saw several people with dogs last night. While they don't have "entertainment ", they sing and dance with the customers during the evening. Reservations are a must!
Q:
Are we able to BBQ there? Put up a volleyball net and have a bonfire?
A:
Try 13th st beach.... that's where most of the beach fires and volley ball seems to occur.
Q:
Does the beach park close at 2pm on Saturdays?
A:
Not to my knowledge.
