I walked this area almost every day of my vacation - from 5th Street north to 14th Street and back. The boardwalk is a well maintained sidewalk, that follows along, just west of the vegetation buffe…Full review by S H

While at Miami Beach there was a lot of seaweed floating in the water. Perhaps a 30ft from the edge of the beach out into the water. Brown in color. I watched as people waded through it out to more open water, unaffected by it. As the seaweed washed ashore and littered the beach, a bulldozer would come along in the morning and bury the seaweed. I am not sure if it’s an on going problem or just a cyclical event due to the changing of seasons. Most likely The later. Don’t let it stop you from going by any means. I would venture to think the seaweed issue is gone now!
Hello Miami Runners!!! I’ll be visiting Miami while training for a marathon. Staying near 57th street at Collins Ave. How safe is to run there? Best route? How early? Any advice? I live in the Caribbean, so I’m accustomed to the heat Thanks in advance! Laura

I’m a marathon runner. Recently ran the Miami half marathon. I have run the Miami Beach boardwalk many many tines in past 5 years. I personally like to go out early and before the sun rises. For one it’s much cooler but above all lot less people. The boardwalk tends to get busy as the day goes by. So I go out at 6am about 5/6 days a week when I’m down there.
Need to know I'm coming in for a few days here, staying at a hotel off the boardwalk. My question is this safe to walk alone at night?!? Single female... Or safety better to walk w my best friend here who is also a female.

Always walk together. Safety matters. Be safe than sorry
We will be visiting Miami Beach in November. Any tips we want to be close to the beach and shops. Suggestions wouldn’t be awesome

Your best bet would be the hotels on Collins Avenue. Most of them have a back access to the beach and the boardwalk for a nice morning stroll. Also if you want to stay in a shopping area, you need to be close to Lincoln Rd. and the open air strip. There are a few very nice hotels on Collins between 14th and 19th streets. You will have direct access to the beach and the shopping a few steps away. Enjoy it...
