Yes. Depending on the time of year. Lots of standup paddle boards and kayaking this time of year. They stock the lake with trout as well so you will see people fishing too.. During the summer it’s very well used with lots of swimming and playing in the sand on the beach.

You can rent kayaks and canoes in Arnold, just a mile away. The same place rents ski equipment in the winter and they are open year-round.

I’m pretty sure that it’s day use only. There is a campground up hwy 4, right at Dorrington, down Boards Crossing rd (baring left) down to Sourgrass campground. It is dry camping without hookups. If there is room, it’s a nice spot close to the river. Also, there is another one on Hwy 4 but they are mostly purchased sites. There may be camping in Calaveras Big trees but I can’t remember.Hope this helps.
