We walked around here looking at the statues and just enjoying the park. The only thing that made me a little sad was when I wanted to take a picture of the duck statue there was a young child sittin…Full review by lorikX9758LT

Boston Common in the Spring is a beautiful site. Great flowering trees and tulips. Nice pathways to walk on. Ride the Swan boats if you have time. Well worth a visit in the Spring.Full review by afax0n

Boston Common is a cute park that the local dogs and their owners love to use. This place has many statues and park benches that are great a little break from the busy city.Full review by lukethefoodcritic

Just a comment to solve the mystery here. With my allergies, I am pretty sensitive to outdoor smells. I noticed the "pot" smell right away last week in Boston common. But being a gardener, I know what it really is, Boxwood. These are pretty little smooth leaf shrubs that come from England. Several types, the English train them into hedges. Boxwood has a smell that is very much like pot but worse, it is unpleasant. I looked around but there was so much to see that I could not locate where the boxwoods were. Must be a lot of them, especially near the Visitor Center. My Lowes store always has plenty of boxwood plants and that whole section of the greenhouse stinks. So, I can't really say what everyone in Boston Common is smoking, but I do know lots of boxwood shrubs when I smell them.
A:
It was definitely pot when we were there. Probably worse because it had literally just been legalised the week before. And the smell was as you walked past people who were smoking!
Q:
Could you tell me if there are mosquitos at the frog pond for movie night? Thank you
A:
I would assume that, on a warm night, you will experience some mosquitos there. The frog pond is a relatively protected area for them.
Q:

As in most good sized cities Boston has a homeless population, and in recent months they have sometimes harassed and even mugged people. The Boston Common is an area where many of the homeless go to use drugs/drink and sleep. Since few people are around at 5AM I would not run or walk there alone. The Esplanade along the Charles River, is close to Boston Common and more open, but here too women at least have been attacked (3 or 4 in two years). If I were to go running, I would choose the Esplanade, only between 8AM and 6 PM.

Hi, I am planning a surprise visit for my husband's birthday the last few days of November. Is the "scenic view" worth the extra expense or is the "forrest view" a great way to go? We like a nice view with a patio or balcony but don't want to upgrade all the way to the Ocean View. Any input is appreciated! Thank you, in advance.
A:
Don't waste money on an upgrade. Get out and about and walk the common and Botanical Gardens far better than a view from a hotel room. Its a magical city with great views all over.
