The falls were spectacular but all the vendors detracted from the beauty. Children at entrance swarm around car to sell items.Full review by Vacationer704440

We were there in mid March . The waters were clear . They are high in minerals from the limestone they flow over . Thus the blue . Generally they will be clear from January to June . Rain in the Xanil river basin will bring up the turbidity . The slash and burn of local farmers is contributory . Most are extremely poor subsistence farmers . Hunger trumps ecology . There are some large commercial palm oil and sugar cane farms . So my advise is pick your best time and then watch the local weather for the best day . I enjoyed some local made chocolate and the banana chips at the upper falls .

You should have little problem arranging a day trip to the falls. Best of luck & enjoy !! butch
