This is a really great museum. The layout is well thought out, open, and the exhibits are fantastic. If you are a resident of NY, NJ, or CT, they have “pay what you wish” tickets.Full review by frede892

It’s Like visiting old friends. Uplifting and stimulating to see the exhibits and share the experience with others. I’ve been here many times but always find something new to see and l.Full review by Peter Y

Is it allowed to check luggage at the Brooklyn Museum? We are planning on visiting theee on our last day in NYC, right before heading to LaGuardia Airport. Being able to leave our bags at the coat check (we will each have 1 suitcase with us) would make everything go smoothly.

Grumo, thanks for your response. We did not end up going to the Brooklyn Museum our last day - the time was just too close and we thought we would get to the airport early in case we might take an earlier flight. But all indications we found said that you could bring a suitcase to the Brooklyn Museum and they would let you check it. We may find out next time!

We went in the week rather than a Saturday and even then we could only book a slot some 2 hours later. We went to other exhibits first then enjoyed the snack bar but there is a classy restaurant too. Get there when it opens but phone first in case all tickets are allocated; it is a very popular exhibition and nearing the end of its run I believe. A superb exhibition worth persevering.

I’m buying the “standard” ticket for the Bowie exhibit. How flexible is the museum with your scheduled time. If I buy a ticket for 3:00, do I have to get there exactly at 3:00? Thanks
A:
I agree with the previous answer. If you are early, then you must wait. If you are very late, then I do not know what happens.
Q:
About how long would the average person spend at this exibit?
