Fort in excellent shape. Nice self guided tour tracing forts history from Revolutionary war through World war 2. Friendly rangers, small museum and short film which is short and dated but nice info.Full review by Schneider231

If you are taking your own boat then it shouldn't be a problem, the issue you may have is if you take the harbor boat over. It is more thane a 2 hour boat ride round trip and even though the dog would be allowed on the fort it may not be allowed on the boat. They may make exceptions if it is a small dog in a carrier.
