Not fully understanding the way to see Mesa Verde, we booked onto the 700 years tour. The website insinuates that this is a great way to get to see the cliff dwellings up close and learn about the hi…Full review by Mobile14973469180

Q:
Is it possible to do Wetherill Mesa (only Step House) and Chapin Mesa (but none of the guided tours for Balcony House/Cliff Palace) in one LONG day? I have 4 kids (ages 1, 3, 5, and 7) so I figure Step House would be a neat (low commitment) way for my older 2 kids to climb the ladders etc and then we would drive to the Chapin Mesa sites to do some of the shorter trails and viewpoints along the way? I would head to Wetherill first thing in the day since Step House closes much earlier than Cliff Palace/Balcony House. The kids are all well traveled so can easily do 12+ hour days.
A:
Its totally possible. As long as you have transport, you can do Step House early in the day and just head to Chapin Mesa and choose the trails depending on how much time you have left
