Visit their website for the times of the demos - click on 'Activities" Etching - Every day from 10:15 am to 1:15 pm, and from 1:45 pm to 4:45 pm. Painting -Every day from 10:15 am to 17:10 pm. Demos are about 15 min long. When you enter go up to the top floor where the painting demos is done in the Students' Studio. A card there tells you exactly what time the next demo will take place.
Can one take a canal bus from near Rembrandt House to Rijksmuseum? If so, how long does it take? Will the City pass work for the fare? If not what is the cost?

I would say boats are for sightseeing, not for transportation. Amsterdam is a lovey city to walk or ride a bike.
