The White House threw its support behind Habba after federal judges in New Jersey didn't extend her term as interim U.S. attorney.

Former Trump defense attorney Alina Habba was replaced as U.S. Attorney in New Jersey on Tuesday, according to a court order, failing to secure the votes needed from the state’s federal judges to remain, after the Trump ally drew controversy during her tenure for charging Democratic politicians over their clashes with federal immigration agents.

The Department of Justice quickly fired the newly named US attorney in New Jersey on Tuesday after federal judges in the state declined to extend Alina Habba’s interim appointment.
