The Utah Jazz just completed a curious trade, sending high-volume scorer Collin Sexton and a 2030 second-round selection to the Charlotte Hornets for the modest return of Jusuf Nurkić.

Sexton has spent the last three seasons in Utah and will play for his third NBA team next season. Sexton, 26, averaged 18.4 points, 4.2 assists and 2.7 rebounds during the 2024-25 season.

The Jazz sent Sexton and a 2031 second-round pick to Charlotte for Jusuf Nurkic. Both Sexton and Nurkic are owed nearly $20 million for the upcoming season, so it’s clear Utah wanted to move Sexton.
