New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye participated in his first-ever Pro Bowl event on Thursday night, but did not fair well in the "Passing the Test" challenge.

The Patriots are on track in their continued efforts to rebuild the team. They hired Mike Vrabel as the new head coach and lead visionary on the journey. The combination of Maye and Vrabel could be the building blocks for an eventual return to prominence for the once-great organization.

Drake Maye’s rookie season was undeniably promising. The 22-year-old out of North Carolina completed 66.6% of his passes for 2276 yards in 12 games, tossing 15 touchdowns to 10 interceptions with a lackluster supporting cast. Maye also ran for 421 yards and 22 first downs, and was a late addition to the Pro Bowl games.

Patriots rookie quarterback Drake Maye came up short Thursday night in the “Passing the Test” event as part of the Pro Bowl’s revamped skills competition. Maye finished with 22 points, the lowest total among the six competing quarterbacks.
