The Vancouver Canucks are the center of attention in the NHL, and not because they’re on some incredible hot streak. Instead, everyone is keeping an eye on the Canucks as a feud between J.T. Miller and Elias Pettersson has reached a boiling point.

NHL insider Elliotte Friedman reported on Sportsnet's "Saturday Headlines" that Pettersson has informed Canucks management that he "would like to stay" with the team, offering the franchise some clarity on his vantage point.

Elias Pettersson skated with Brock Boeser and Jake DeBrusk, and was more frequently self-matched with Quinn Hughes against the top end of the Toronto lineup. Frankly, Pettersson’s deployment patterns on Saturday more closely matched how the Canucks have utilized J.T. Miller for much of this season.

The Canucks have activated star forward Elias Pettersson from injured reserve as he continues to be involved in trade rumors.

Pettersson made his comeback after being sidelined since suffering an undisclosed injury on Dec. 23. He left that game against the San Jose Sharks after scoring two goals.
