AI on Monday unveiled its updated Grok 3 artificial intelligence model, as the Elon Musk-led startup pushes to keep pace with the advanced reasoning and search capabilities in competitors’ models.

According to xAI’s blog, Grok 3 leverages Test-Time Compute at Scale (TTCS), a specific implementation of test-time scaling, to power its reasoning. This machine learning strategy enables the A.I. model to dynamically adjust computational resources, ensuring higher accuracy for complex queries while maintaining speed for simpler tasks.

The model was trained on 200,000 GPUs and beats its rivals in math, science, and coding benchmarks, Musk says. It appears to coincide with a price hike on X Premium+ accounts.
