The Seattle Seahawks are taking a long-term approach with rookie quarterback Jalen Milroe. The expectation has been that Milroe will be brought along slowly as the team's No. 3 quarterback behind starter Sam Darnold and veteran backup Drew Lock.

After trading quarterback Geno Smith to the Las Vegas Raiders, Seattle signed Darnold to a three-year, $100.5 million contract in March. Darnold earned a Pro Bowl invitation last season, when he paced the Minnesota Vikings to a 14-3 regular-season record and threw for 4,319 yards and 35 touchdowns.

The Seattle Seahawks took a chance on their potential quarterback of the future in the third round of the 2025 NFL Draft, as the team selected Jalen Milroe with the No.92 overall pick, the selection they acquired in the Geno Smith trade with the Las Vegas Raiders.
