Jason Botterill was named general manager of the Seattle Kraken on Tuesday. He replaces Ron Francis, the team's first GM, who was named president. Botterill, 48, had been hired as a Seattle assistant GM on Jan. 5, 2021.

Ron Francis, the Kraken's first general manager, is being replaced by assistant Jason Botterill, who is a former GM for the Buffalo Sabres.

The Seattle Kraken announced Tuesday they have promoted GM Ron Francis to president of hockey operations and Jason Botterill to GM one day after firing coach Dan Bylsma.
