New York Giants general manager Joe Schoen had to make a big splash in the NFL Draft this weekend. He had to act as if his professional life was dependent on it.

Six years ago, the Giants made three first-round draft picks, including a quarterback. Is 2025 just déjà vu? Not at all. The difference between what general Dave Gettleman did then and what his successor Joe Schoen did this weekend — with his two first-round picks and a quarterback — is glaring.
