A wildfire that sparked amid dry, hot weather and Red Flag warnings across Colorado has prompted mandatory and voluntary evacuations near Berthoud in Larimer County.

Residents north of Dry Creek Reservoir were able to return to their homes after firefighters contained a "fast-moving" grass fire a little more than two hours after it ignited west of Berthoud.

Mandatory evacuations have been ordered for residents near Berthoud due to a grass fire. As of 3:00 p.m. on Monday, the fire was estimated to be about 34 acres and is threatening structures in the area.
