The Mets are calling up a hot-hitting infielder from the minor leagues for their second game this week against the Los Angeles Dodgers, per a new report.

Rated for years among the top 100 prospects in baseball and a jewel in the organization, Mauricio made his major league debut in September 2023 and batted .248 with two home runs, nine RBIs and seven stolen bases in 26 games that year.

The New York Mets will replace the injured Mark Vientos with prospect Ronny Mauricio, who is still a rookie despite finishing up the 2023 season in the majors.
