Hanging out of the car with excitement, Marcelo Gomes da Silva couldn’t wait to return home to Milford on Thursday after spending six days in ICE custody. “The only thing I wanted to do when I got back here was hug my parents, my dad, yeah, my dad means the world to me,” said Marcelo Gomes da Silva.

Joined by Congressman Seth Moulton and Jake Auchincloss, Marcelo Gomes Da Silva held back tears as he spoke outside of the Burlington ICE facility he was being held at.

Instead of performing with the Milford High School band at Sunday's graduation, Marcelo Gomes Da Silva was detained by immigration officials.
