US Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy is still evaluating his options for what to do if New York doesn’t shut down its controversial congestion pricing program later this month, a lawyer for the federal government told a judge.

President Donald Trump has voiced his opposition to the plan, which charges drivers in lower Manhattan a $9 toll during peak traffic times. It is unclear if the administration will force New York, by unknown means, to end the practice earlier. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy has said he would like the program to end by April 20.

The DOT post claimed that the deadline to end congestion pricing is still April 20. This date was set after Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy granted a 30-day extension when the last deadline came and passed in March.
