Billy, 40, and Tina, 59, will be moved to the Elephant Experience and Preserve at the Tulsa Zoo. Officials say they made the decision with the elephants' care and well-being at top of mind.

The Los Angeles Zoo announced Tuesday that it will relocate its only two remaining Asian elephants to an expansive preserve at the Tulsa Zoo in Oklahoma.

Tulsa Zoo’s current Asian elephant herd includes males Sneezy and Hank and females Sooky, Booper and Connie. Tulsa Zoo said its expertise with elephant introductions, managing multiple bulls and individualized care plans are among the reasons it was selected to receive Billy and Tina.
