Just when all hope seemed lost for Kentucky on Thursday, Otega Oweh managed to push the Wildcats past the Sooners to continue in the SEC tournament.

Mark Pope described the final seconds of Kentucky‘s win over Oklahoma in his postgame press conference, detailing the plan to get Oweh downhill and “bum-rush” the rim. The plan worked, obviously, because Oweh delivered the game-winner against his old team for a second time this season.

With five seconds remaining, the Sooners pulled ahead by one, but Kentucky’s Otega Oweh secured the win with a decisive game-winning shot. Oweh finished with 27 points on 8/14 shooting, along with five assists and four rebounds.

The Sooners went toe-to-toe with the Wildcats before falling behind by double digits, then pulled off a frantic and near-impossible rally before Oweh broke their hearts again.
