Federal immigration officials appeared to target day laborers in raids Monday at a Home Deport in Santa Ana, leaders in Orange County said.

In Santa Ana, about 120 protesters gathered outside a federal building near City Hall on Monday afternoon, and emotions ran high.

Several business owners in Santa Ana told Eyewitness News they were down to less than 10% of their usual sales since Monday, with customers staying home in fear.

Around 200 protestors rallied this afternoon outside the Santa Ana Federal Building after agents were reported detaining residents in the city.

Irvine City Council members, and city hall officials say federal immigration authorities are expected to conduct a sweep in town today.

At least 10 people were arrested after a protest against immigration raids in Orange County Monday turned chaotic and led to police declaring an unlawful assembly.
