The wife of Justin Eichorn, the former Republican Minnesota state senator federally charged with attempting to solicit sex from a minor​, faces allegations from federal prosecutors that she helped try to conceal evidence for him.

A Republican politician who in the past has scrutinized Democratic family values and morals faces state and federal charges for allegedly soliciting a minor.

Eichorn was arrested during the course of the investigation and was brought into federal court last week. Court documents state that Eichorn is representing himself in the ongoing divorce case.

A federal judge on Wednesday said she had “no doubt” there’s probable cause — enough evidence — against former state Sen. Justin Eichorn, a Republican from Grand Rapids, to sustain a federal charge of attempted coercion and enticement of a minor.

Court documents alleged Justin Eichorn asked someone to get a laptop from his apartment so investigators couldn't find it. On Wednesday, it was revealed his wife - who has filed for divorce - was the one he asked to get his laptop.
