July 31 (UPI) -- SpaceX's Crew-11 mission to the International Space Station was scrubbed just before launch on Thursday. The flight, scheduled to take off from Kennedy Space Center in Florida, was scrubbed due to an unfavorable weather forecast for the launch site. The next attempt will be 11:43 a.m. EDT Friday.

When it launches, Crew-11 will embark on a roughly 40-hour flight to catch up with the International Space Station, orbiting at a speed of about 17,500 mph (28,000 kph) some 248 miles (400 kilometers) above the surface of Earth.

NASA is ready to send a fresh crew to the International Space Station Thursday aboard a SpaceX Crew Dragon capsule, including three fliers who were assigned to the flight after NASA ran into problems with Boeing's troubled Starliner capsule last year.
