The U.S. State Department oversees the visas allowing foreigners to study in the country. Under the Trump Administration, around 800 visas have been revoked without consistent reasons. Some, like at Columbia University in New York, have been cited for Pro-Palestinian activism; a reason for NIU’s cancelation isn’t known.
