A tsunami warning has been issued for Hawaii, where waves set off by an 8.8-magnitude earthquake in Russia’s remote Far East are expected to arrive after 7 p.m. local time.

As the tsunami threat subsides across the Pacific, this is where warnings and evacuation orders have been officially lifted.

Japanese officials said around 900,000 people across the country were under evacuation orders, while Hawaii residents were urged to seek higher ground.
