Canadian teenager Victoria Mboko upset top-seeded Coco Gauff 6-1, 6-4 on Saturday night to reach the National Bank Open quarterfinals.

Victoria Mboko’s stellar run at the National Bank Open hit a new level Saturday. The Canadian rolled to a 6-1, 6-4 win over No. 1 seed Coco Gauff of the United States, winning the women’s singles match in just 62 minutes to advance to the quarterfinals at the WTA 1000 tournament.

Mboko is the first Canadian to advance to the quarterfinals in Montreal since Bianca Andreescu in 2019 and is now the youngest Canadian to defeat a No. 1 seed at the National Bank Open.
