One of the people accused of fatally shooting members of a foster family has been referred for a competency examination.

Washtenaw County Trial Court Judge Jinan Hamood’s ruling Thursday, Feb. 20, sent the case against Eddie Charles Gardner Jr., 38, back to the 14A-1 District Court.
