This is odd. Right now at various retailers — including Amazon and the online shops of AMC, Cinemark, and Regal Cinemas — you can buy a variety of merchandise tied to Marvel’s new movie, Captain America: Brave New World.

But this means that Captain America: Brave New World is the first-ever MCU movie not to open with the now-iconic Marvel Studios logo and fanfare that mirrors the flipping of comic-book pages.

Brave New World” introduces a Black Captain America to the big screen. In doing so, it doesn’t shy away from exploring the complex legacy Black Americans have with the flag.
