The series is a prequel to “Outlander,” which premiered on Starz in 2014 and has run for seven seasons with an eighth season incoming. “Blood of My Blood” will feature a new cast and characters, while also giving origin stories to characters from the original series and new points of view on some of the original’s events.

MGM+, in advance of the series ‘Outlander: Blood of My Blood,’ has revealed a set of first-look images teasing the two lead couples: Julia Moriston (Hermione Corfield) and Henry Beauchamp (Jeremy Irvine), and Ellen MacKenzie (Harriet Slater) and Brian Fraser (Jamie Roy). A release date of Saturday August 9th as also been revealed for the series.
