The Ohio State Reformatory, The Ridges, and Johnson's Island Confederate cemetery are all reputedly haunted places in Ohio, with ghost sightings, strange noises, and cold spots reported by visitors.

As many as 51,000 soldiers from both sides were killed during the three-day battle in July 1863. It is little wonder that stories of ghosts and apparitions have haunted the area since.
