Flamenco was far more fun than I expected. I love shoes with a good stomp, and flamenco’s percussive beat is addicting. I also loved the drama and beauty of the art form.

Alborada Dance Theater, which was originally founded in 1965, has been spreading the art of flamenco in schools, senior centers, restaurants, and full stage productions to audiences of all ages.

Dance studio Raices de Arte Espanol will open its doors Friday, Nov. 22, for a performance featuring Austin-based dancer Bianca Rodriguez, who’s currently on tour via Flamenco Vivo’s.
