Since then Google has worked with manufacturers to release 5 more Nexus phones and a handful of tablets. But this year’s Nexus 9 tablet is only the second Nexus product to be made by HTC.
The Google Nexus 9 is one of the first devices to ship with Android 5.0 Lollipop and it’s also one of the first Android devices to feature an NVIDIA Tegra K1 64-bit processor.
With the Nexus 9 gone, Google is left selling one tablet: the Pixel C. It didn’t get much love either, but it could get a lot more interesting once Android N is out.
The Nexus 9 tablet breaks from that in Google's attempt to enter a higher-end market. The Nexus line has Google contract with other manufacturers to make phones and tablets for them.
