A top ISIS leader has been killed, according to the U.S. Central Command. U.S. and Iraqi forces carried out what the U.S. calls a precision airstrike in Iraq to take out the number two leader of ISIS known as Abu Khadija.

On his Truth Social platform Friday night, President Trump wrote that "the fugitive leader of ISIS in Iraq was killed."

US President Donald Trump has confirmed the death of Abdallah Maki Mosleh al-Rifai, the leader of the Islamic State, ISIS, in Iraq and Syria. On Friday, Iraq’s prime minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani announced that al-Rifai was killed in an operation by both US forces and members of the Iraqi intelligence service.
