The removal of mail sorting machines, collection mailboxes and a warning letter to states are skyrocketing concerns about mail-in ballots this fall.
The machines tabulate the votes and the paper ballots remain as a “paper trail.” Should questions arise (either via a recount request and/or contested vote), the ballots may then be hand counted.
