Major wildfires that have ripped through northeastern Minnesota are largely contained, but the hot, dry weather is expected to test suppression efforts through Monday. The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources reports a “very high” fire risk in the area of the Jenkins Creek fire,

Gov. Tim Walz was joined by leaders of both the DNR, the Department of Public Safety and the National Weather Service to also discuss the fire situation and outlook across the state.

All evacuation orders prompted by wildfires north of Duluth, Minnesota, have been lifted, officials said Monday.

As of 8 a.m. Monday, all evacuation zones around the Camp House and Jenkins Creek fires are longer active in St. Louis and Lake counties.

The Camp House fire destroyed or severely damaged nearly 150 structures, including 30 year-round homes. The last wildfire to consume that many buildings and homes was the Ham Lake fire, along the Gunflint Trail,
