Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu survived yet another attempt to vote his government out of power, despite the opposition’s best attempts to activate the country’s religious communities against him.

JERUSALEM (AP) — Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government survived an attempt to dissolve Israel’s parliament early Thursday morning, with most of his ultra-Orthodox coalition partners joining him in voting against a bill that would have forced them to register for military service while the country is at war.

Some of the Israeli prime minister’s coalition partners backed an opposition motion over rules that exempt most religious students from serving in the military.
