Nintendo Switch 2 is in the early stages of its lifecycle, which means the competition to be named the best Nintendo Switch 2 game isn’t quite as intense as it’s sure to be a little ways down the road. However, it’s already amassed a solid library of worthwhile games, and it’s growing every week.

Donkey Kong first appeared in the 1981 arcade game of the same name and quickly became one of Nintendo's first iconic characters. Many mascots from this era struggled to stay relevant after home consoles took over the market, but Donkey Kong is one of the few that might be more popular today than he was over forty years ago.

Currently, there’s nothing on the docket for September, but the month could easily go to Kirby Air Riders, which is supposed to come out this year. And after Pokémon Legends: Z-A ’s release in October, the “winter” will belong to Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment (and maybe Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, which is also due out sometime in 2025).
