"We really turned a neighborhood park back into a park for the neighborhood," remarked Palm Springs Mayor Ron deHarte during a Thursday ceremony.

Babb said a slide from 1968 was able to be repurposed to the back of the playground in the shade. “Community has been very passionate about our slide from 1968,” Babb said.

Families and visitors can now enjoy the newly completed playground at Moore Park Beach Parklands, which opened this week.
