Cesar Chavez was born on March 31, 1927. He would grow to lead strikes and become one of the greatest US farm worker organizers of the 20th Century. This is a bonus episode of Stories of Resistance.

Itliong lived in Delano and was a key figure in farm labor movements including the Delano Grape Strike during the 1960s. He died back in 1977 but some of his children still live in the area.

Johnny Itliong grew up in California's grape fields. His father Larry Itliong helped lead the Delano Grape Strike in 1965. Johnny came to StoryCorps to share stories about his dad with his own son.
