A tragic accident unfolded in Fort Worth over the weekend, leaving a community in mourning. On Saturday evening, a vehicle plunged into the Trinity River near Beach Street and East Freeway.

Firefighters recovered a child’s body from the Trinity River on Sunday after a car crashed into the water along Beach Street. The mother was taken to a hospital in critical condition.

Fort Worth police said no other victims have been located, though they did receive a report that an infant was also in the car.
