US President Donald Trump said on Sunday night that he would be speaking with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday, adding that he hoped they would have “something to announce” as negotiations continue over the US’ ceasefire proposal for the war in Ukraine.

Trump disclosed the upcoming conversation to reporters while flying from Florida to Washington on Air Force One on Sunday evening, while the Kremlin confirmed Putin’s participation on Monday morning.
