BOSTON — Red Sox starter Brayan Bello showed his athleticism while covering first base during the first inning Tuesday. He stretched out fully and kept his foot on the bag to complete a 3-6-1 double play and escape a bases-loaded jam. He fell to the dirt once the play was completed.

Boston still has a dominant Garrett Crochet, an improving Walker Buehler, and Sean Newcomb to hold down the rotation. The 14-11 Red Sox should be satisfied with their start to the season, despite fielding and strikeout woes, and will only improve with this influx of healthy arms.

Brayan Bello allowed one run over five innings in his season debut, Triston Casas hit a three-run homer in the seventh and the Boston Red Sox beat the Seattle Mariners 8-3 for their sixth win in seven games.
