Nurses at the hospital are raising concerns about patient safety and outcomes as a result of new hospital staffing plans.

Massachusetts health officials are investigating a Legionnaires' disease case at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital.

The Health Department thinks the patient became infected at the hospital. Legionnaire's is a type of pneumonia often spread by inhaling contaminated water droplets from sources like air conditioners.

Officials have contacted Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital where the person had been a patient and are dictating infection control measures that must be implemented at the facility, a DPH official said Friday.
