The creator of the Dragon Quest series gives a long overdue and positive update on the development of Dragon Quest 12: The Flames of Fate.

In a livestream over the weekend, the series creator quickly passed comment on the next mainline project, revealing the developer is "working hard on Dragon Quest XII". He hopes that more information about the game will be released "little by little".

Dragon Quest 12 is still in development and information will be released “little by little,” series creator Yuji Horii has said.

As reported by Automaton, Horii promised that Square Enix is still “working hard on Dragon Quest 12”, and that he plans to release more information about the game little by little. One of the other games announced back in 2021 alongside Dragon Quest 12 was the HD-2D remake of Dragon Quest 3, which was eventually released last November.
