India said its troops responded to firing from Pakistan military positions in the Jammu and Kashmir region for a second day on Saturday, as tensions remained escalated between the neighbors after a deadly attack on tourists this week.

NEW DELHI -- A deadly attack on tourists in Indian-controlled Kashmir has again moved India and Pakistan closer to war as the two rivals downgraded diplomatic and trade ties, closed the main border crossing and revoked visas for each other’s nationals.

India and Pakistan will figure out relations between themselves, U.S. President Donald Trumpsaid on Friday as tensions soared between the two neighboring countries after an attack in India's Kashmir region that was the worst in nearly two decades.
